4K Download apps
4K Download had five desktop apps used by millions of people, and most of the UI still carried years of legacy decisions. I led design across the core suite, several new products, and a tighter cross-platform experience on Windows, macOS, and Ubuntu.
I spent most of my time on the parts that move numbers: onboarding, paywalls, control panels, and making the main flows easier to read. I also proposed and shipped a built-in browser. Daily engagement rose about 18%, and the product stopped feeling like a download-only tool.
By the time I moved on, the suite had passed 60 million users. The apps looked cleaner, shared more structure, and were easier to extend without rewriting everything from scratch.
4K Download is consumer software used by tens of millions. It even has its own Wikipedia article.
